Glamour photography is one of the most exciting genres of the art of photography.  The best images of any type of photography are ones that depict a scene or idea that is not commonly seen by the average person, or ones that depict a common scene or idea but from a different perspective than would normally be viewed.  For me, glamour photography is exciting because I can combine the appreciation of the beauty of the human form with the fascination of the unique quality of the complex human emotion.  These two aspects of the human experience are inseparable.  While many different types of photography are meant to induce different emotions, glamour images are meant to arouse the certain subset of human emotions that are sensual, passionate, primeval, and deeply intimate.

Poetraits are poetic portraiture.  It is the use of photography to portray a poetic theme.  Images may sometimes be combined with words to enhance the perspective.  Sometimes the images alone are enough to convey the right message.  I like to combine the art of glamour photography with poetic portraiture.  The result is something more than just a beautiful picture, but one that has a deeper meaning and a message behind it.

There is a lot of work that goes into making the final image, from concept to preparation, makeup, lighting, interaction with the model, and finally the digital processing.  With the advent of the digital camera and image processing software, the amateur photographer now has access to the tools to produce amazing works of art that was once only achievable by the professional.  I have learned many great techniques from various sources and have developed a workflow that is easy to follow and learn.  Follow along on this site and I will share some of my secrets with you.
